Vogt Nasal Splint

The post septalplasty management of the nasal mucosa in the medial third of the nasal floor is largely ignored by most common nasal splints. The Vogt Nasal Splint* with its longer caudal end, is designed specifically to stent and rotect this anatomical area, especially after an injury of the mucosa covering bony crests near the nasal bottom. Post operative bleeding from the hemitransfixion or transfixion incision due to the minor palatine artery is prohibited by gentle pressure over the suture. There is an added benefit of a tamponade effect between the septum and inferior turbinate.

The Vogt Nasal Splints have the surface treatment Ultra-smooth Plus®. This proprietary technology modifies the surface properties of silicone. Ultra-smooth® treated silicone is thromboresistant, resistant to biofilm germination and bacterial and fungal growth and has less surface friction.
